Credit card tip #8
Read the fine print before applying for a credit card

Before applying for a new card or switching for another, for example, low interest credit card make sure you read terms and conditions of a credit card. Make sure you will not end up having higher interest credit card after intro period is over. It is worth it if only you are 100% know that you will able to pay off you balance fully to the end of intro period.

The fine print also include rules and limitations for rewards cc programs. When a credit card with bonus or special offer catches your eye going through credit card agreement is always helpful for clear understanding of how reward program works and what requires form you to earn rewards. Even if you think 'free bonus points, miles' are actually free, they are not! There is nothing free on a credit card.

Any bonus, rewards or extra benefit requires some actions from cardholders. You can be asked to spend a preset amount of money to earn your 'free bonus', or keep your card active in order to get a part of huge bonus offer each months you got with your card. There are also limitations and caps for reward programs described in a credit card agreement.

Know and understand your credit card agreement.
