What do you prefer cash or credit card to use for paying for things and services you use in your everyday life?
Most people choose credit cards, even for paying for little things and goods.
Psychological Aspect
First of all, psychological studies show that people tend to spend more when paying with a credit card
(
Psychology Today).
It’s way easier to pay with a credit card than with cash. More likely you will turn out easier from buying $80-dress if you have
to pay cash for it and you won’t do it so easy if you have a credit card in your wallet. So maybe leaving a credit card at home
isn’t bad idea when you want to cut off your spending.
No cash in a wallet
Did you notice how some people say: 'I never have cash in my wallet' or 'I use credit card because this is a great way to control
spending. I charge everything on my credit card and I see where I spend my money'. Yes, it can give you a full picture of your
spending, but do you really see where your money goes? Knowing that you have big limit on a card gives you more freedom for
buying things you don’t really need.
Easiness to buy useless things
Very often I find myself buying things, just because I like them and I have free balance on my credit card, not because
I need them! I bet this situation seems familiar to you.
Security and protection!
Not everything is so negative about credit cards. Unlike cash credit card gives you protection against lost and stolen cards,
unauthorized purchase. When cash is lost or stolen it is gone forever.
Making credit card payments on time, staying in you limit will not cause harm to you. You can even get your money back
and save on purchases by properly using credit cards with rewards program.
